sha'ar, sha'ar,...uw ba'ad sha'ar

the last post (with all the iraqi gypsy dancing -- yana tsehotskaya's, to hussam al-rassam's 'mit'kabra,' et al) brought up hasan ar-rassam's 'sha'ar sha'ar' (hair hair -- i wonder if the rassams are related)

another good 'sha'ar'

then there's alaa sa'ad's 'il-burtuqala' (the orange, or,...the orange one)

he's also got a 'tufaha' (apple -- it's all about the cheeks)

i don't know who did this 'abu khad mishmisha' (the apricot-cheeked) -- in the credits, there's the name marwan abu al-ghanam

there's this dance, to 'rummana, ya rummana' (pomegranate, o pomegranate)...that i came across

finally,...from the good old days -- sarah, an american soldier from alabama, doing her 'sha'ar'
